What is the cooling-off period for travelers?

The cooling-off period allows travelers to cancel within 24 hours of booking, at no extra cost.

This will provide travelers with a better experience, and the added flexibility can mean more bookings for you!

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The 24 hour cooling-off period will begin once a booking request has been accepted, or when the quote has been paid for
  • The cooling-off period only applies to bookings that are 60 days or more away.

  • After 24 hours, your chosen cancellation policy applies as normal.

  • We'll handle any cancellations for you—you don't have to do a thing.

For example:

A booking request is sent at 11am on January 1. The holiday dates are in April, more than 60 days away, which means the traveler is eligible for the cooling-off period.

At 11am on January 2 the booking is accepted and the traveler now has 24 hours to cancel at no cost. The 24 hours starts from 11am when the booking was confirmed.

At 11am on January 3, the cooling-off period is over and the rental’s cancellation policy applies.

If the guest decided to cancel at 10am on January 3, they would be within the cooling-off period and anything they’d already paid would be refunded to them in full.

Note: Bookings that are 60 days or more away start from when the booking was accepted, or when the quote was paid for. Therefore, if a booking was accepted or a quote was paid for on January 1, 60 days from this date would be March 1.
